Hearing that Don Knotts had passed away was one of those feelings that a little piece of myself had died. How many hours of my life had been humored by this master comedian? To this day I'll watch an Andy Griffith marathon and all my favorites are the ones about Barney. The same goes for 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken' ( the "atta boy Luther" speech ) and 'Shakiest Gun In The West'. Masterful stuff.
Thanks for the smiles Mr. Knotts.

Reuters: Arabs see phobia behind US uproar over ports deal
Why would we have a reason to fear the beliefs of muslims ?
And you can attempt to excuse this logic by saying I can't judge a whole religion by the actions of a few twisted individuals that have 'hijacked' a great religion. It was not a few I saw cheering on 9/11; not a few that I see rioting and threatening executions over cartoons or chanting death slogans in mobs throughout the Islamic world.
I judge the religion by the immigrants that are compelled to leave the cesspools of their origins to go to a host country and attempt to whine and extort their way into establishing the same failed system in their new country.
I judge the religion by the fact that I doubt that God is so stupid as to be fooled by the sincerity of somebody compelled by bodily injury to adhere to a faith.
I strongly suspect that God is only interested in what is in a person's heart.
I also wonder how stupid someone has to be to believe that a God that dwells in spirit will reward them with carnal pleasures as a reward for killing something God created and somehow can't just snap the fingers and say 'be dead'. After all, isn't that what the Koran teaches ? Allah merely needs to say something is and it is so ?
So why does God need you to do the killing?
Am I Islamaphobic?..... no... I'm a realist.
Islam is as Islamist do and I see what they do and I hear what they are saying.
In a nutshell so that even the half-wits at CAIR can understand; the right to free speech is EXPLICITLY granted in the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION !!!!
Yes there is a limit insofar as it doesn't actually do harm to others.
THE RIGHT TO NOT BE OFFENDED DOES NOT EXIST !!! Being offended does not harm a person to the degree that others should be denied the right to freely criticize another's religion or the ill-formed tenets of that religion. CAIR and the Koran have no problem doing so to the Jews and Christians.
If you don't like it then emigrate to an Islamic paradise of your choice. We don't need you here and many of us don't want you here. Might I suggest Iran or Iraq. In this country you are free to do so.

One of these men is the product of a superior culture.
The other merely makes the claim.
One of these men's cultures reached for great heights for all mankind.
The other cannot achieve this and is compelled by this inadequacy to bring other men down to his level.
One of these men will be remembered by all cultures.
The other will only be feared during his short life.
One of these men represents what people can achieve by peaceful cooperation.
The other is too busy hating to achieve anything.
I don't buy the President's selling point that we are discriminating against Arabs by opposing this sale. That's the front story. I think it may be something more strategic... The Straits of Hormuz.
Pull up Google Earth and roll over to the Persian Gulf. I took one measurement from Dubai to the Iranian coast... 88 miles. The distance is even less if you go into northern Dubai. Unlike Iraq, when the front opens up on Iran we will lose ships to silkworm and exocet missiles. The tanker wars of the 80's serve as a reminder. What would be more of an Iranian propoganda motherload than images beamed worldwide of a US ship sinking in the Persian Gulf ?
Using land-based aircraft we could fly more sorties per day without refueling issues and keep our carriers at a safe striking distance. If the same permission is being sought from Qatar and Kuwait then we could relentlessly attack Bushehr ( 180 miles as the falcon flies, from Kuwait ).
So what if the administration is prepping the playing field but dodging landmines in getting cooperation from one muslim state to assist in the attack on another. Then comes this business deal and we find we've been leveraged by our global strategy necessites into a rather undesirable deal, at least in its appearance.
Or is it something along the lines of Lenin's "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
Washngton Times :Bush, Fox join forces to cut violence on border.

Rumsfeld: U.S. lags on information battlefield
Secretary says U.S. must be more aggressive, innovative in P.R. war
In the article Rumsfeld states this fact:
"Our enemies have skillfully adapted to fighting wars in today's media age, but ... our country has not adapted."
Senator Kennedy responds:
"Clearly, we need to improve our public diplomacy and information age communication in the Muslim world," Kennedy said in a statement. "But nothing has done more to encourage increased al-Qaida recruitment and made America less safe than the war in Iraq and the incompetent way it's been managed. Our greatest failure is our policy."
Senator, how encouraged do you think al-Qaeda gets when you have the opportunity to contribute to the American cause in this information age of communications by saying such encouraging things as :
Speech at the Brookings Institute:
"Iraq is George Bush's Vietnam," Kennedy said at the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank.
"This misguided war in Iraq has distracted us from the real war we must win and made that war harder to win, because even as we combat terror, it has left America more and more isolated in the world," Kennedy said.
Senator, they do hear it.
"There was no imminent threat," Kennedy told the AP. "This was made up in Texas, announced in January to the Republican leadership that war was going to take place and was going to be good politically. This whole thing was a fraud."
( Kennedy must have nodded off during the SOTU where the President said that in a WMD age we cannot wait until the threat becomes imminent. )
"My belief is this money is being shuffled all around to these political leaders in all parts of the world, bribing them to send in troops," he said.
( Our Allies are crooks... Britain, Denmark, Poland, South Korea, Japan, Italy...)
Veterans For Peace:
"The war has made America more hated in the world," said Kennedy. "And it has made our people more vulnerable to attacks both here and overseas."
Senator, it is devisive people such as yourself and your hollow political paradigm that make us divided, vulnerable and inviting attack.
Of those definitions I like the first one from Kids.net.au:
"racialism is a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is superior to another. Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously, through institutions that promote inequality between races.
Recently we have Bryant Gumbel commenting on the Winter Olympics:
"...So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention."
Now let's apply the IOpian Racist Equivalance Test by changing a few words and have Bernard Goldberg say:
"...So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest basketball players, despite a paucity of whites that makes the NBA Finals look like an NAACP convention."
Either BOTH of those statements are racist or NEITHER of those statements is racist.

The article contains this little nugget from Senator Clinton:
"'A tendency of this administration -- from the top all the way to the bottom -- is to withhold information ... to refuse to be forthcoming about information that is of significance and relevance to the jobs that all of you do, and the interests of the American people,' Clinton said. 'Putting it all together, going back years now, there's a pattern and it's a pattern that should be troubling,' "
Hows about a little Stroll Down Memory Lane ?
Where we find this pot-o-gold:
The Looting of Foster's office
" While the U.S. Park Police (a unit not equipped for a proper homicide investigation) studied the body, Foster's office at the White House was being looted. Secret Service agent Henry O' Neill watched as Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Margaret Williams, carried boxes of papers out of Vincent Foster's office before the Park Police showed up to seal it. Amazing when you consider that the official identification of Vincent Foster's body by Craig Livingstone did not take place until 10PM! Speaking of Craig Livingstone, another Secret Serviceman saw him remove items from Vincent Foster's office in violation of the official seal. Witnesses also saw Bernard Nussbaum in Foster's office as well. Three witnesses noted that Patsy Thomason, director of the White House's Office of Administration, was desperate to find the combination to Vincent Foster's safe. Ms. Thomason finally opened the safe, apparently with the help of a special "MIG" technical team signed into the White House in the late hours. Two envelopes reported to be in the safe by Foster's secretary Deborah Gorham, addressed to Janet Reno and to William Kennedy III, were never seen again. When asked the next day regarding rumors of the safe opening, Mack McLarty told reporters Foster's office did not even have a safe, a claim immediately shot down by former occupants of that office.
The next day, when the Park Police arrived for the official search of Vincent Foster's office, they were shocked to learn that Nussbaum, Thomason and Williams had entered the office. Conflicts channeled through Janet Reno's Department of Justice resulted in the Park Police merely sitting outside Foster's office while Bernard Nussbaum continued his own search of Foster's office. During this search, he opened and upended Vincent Foster's briefcase, showing it to be empty. Three days later, it would be claimed that this same briefcase was where the torn up suicide note was discovered.
The boxes of documents removed from Foster's office by Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Margaret Williams, was taken to the private residence area of the White House! Eventually, only 54 pages emerged.
One set of billing records, under subpoena for two years, and thought to have originated in Foster's office, turned up unexpectedly in the private quarters of the White House, with Hillary's fingerprints on them!
So, who ordered the office looting? "

This was one of the Buddhas of Bamiyan.
This is the Taleban's paramount contribution to the heritage of Mankind.
What the Taleban did for the Buddhas of Bamiyan, the proponents of a global caliphate want to do for Western Civilization.
The words of their apologist do not support the actions we see.
Imagine if they gained power in Europe by bullet, ballot or tolerance. What if they controlled Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague, Vienna, Madrid... ?
Buddhas of Bamiyan
USATODAY.com - Why the Taliban are destroying Buddhas:
"In Afghanistan recently, supreme Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar issued an edict against un-Islamic graven images, which means all idolatrous images of humans and animals. As a result, the Taliban are destroying all ancient sculptures. Explosives, tanks, and anti-aircraft weapons blew apart two colossal images of the Buddha in Bamiyan Province, 230 kilometers (150 miles) from the capital of Kabul."
From : Detroit News 03/21/02 ( article no longer available )
"Taliban toiled for a month to topple ancient Buddhas."
And the obligatory hint from the BBC that it is our fault.
"Realizing that more expertise was needed, the Taliban summoned two Pakistani and two Arab explosives experts who residents say were provided by Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network.
BBC News - Outcry as Buddhas are destroyed
** Found this a couple of days after this post:
" Some analysts believe the demolition of the statues may have come in retaliation for UN sanctions imposed for the Taleban's refusal to hand over Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden."
Dhimmi Watch: The destruction of Mecca: Saudi hardliners are wiping out their own heritage
5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into they bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: Jehovah judge between me and thee.
6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face.
7 And the angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
9 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
10 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
11 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.
