Beserkly Backs Down... Sorta

The Berkley city council is trying to back off it's idiot adventure of attacking the troops.

What differentiates the liberal and conservative mind is a fundamental belief by conservatives that for every right there is an equally compelling responsibility. The liberal mind believes that a right can and should be exercised without consequences.

Using the article as reference I submit these proofs that this observation is most likely dead-on.

Proof #1 :

"That letter will probably be pulled back and maybe more moderate language will be put in place which is appropriate I think," said Berkeley mayor Tom Bates. "Subtly stated in the resolution is perhaps an impugning of the soldiers fighting for us in Iraq and other places," Berkeley City Councilman Laurie Capitelli. "And that was never the intention but that really needs to be cleared up. As I walked to my car that night I realized I regretted it and I had made a mistake.

No, you dumbass, the letter should never have been considered in the first place. We all know you half-wits despise the men and women of the services because the military is filled with far better citizens and non-citizens than yourselves.

Proof #2:

"I was under the impression that we have the right of free speech," said Xanne Joi of Code Pink. "To me, I thought free speech meant you get to say what you want without recrimination."

Here we find an absolute statement of the leftist view of non-acceptance of a right's associated responsibilty. I would suggest that Joi go and exercise free speech in Compton or Harlem by standing on a corner and freely use the N-Word. I suspect the concept will become rather clear that if one speaks irresponsibly then they can expect nothing but recrimination.

But now some Senator's have a bill to withold 2.3 million dollars in funds to the city. I support this even if the city apologizes. Let these liberals learn the cost of freedom in terms they understand

Proof#3:

Upon learning the news about the legislative effort to withold funds this liberal responds in typical left-think fashion... they simply make things up:

Ann Cooper with the Berkeley Unified School District wants both sides to play nice. "Senators sitting 3,000 miles away are trying to take food away from the children of Berkeley," said Cooper. "Why? Because the Marines and the city aren't playing nice -- and that's just not OK."

Oh it's the Marines that are blocking the entrance, raising all kinds of hell outside, obstructing citizens wanting to exercise their freedom of choice by talking to the recruiters and hanging anti-military signs on the building.
I also seriously doubt that the children of the city are going to starve because monies for a lunch program are witheld. If so then the warm hearts of those freedom loving citizens will be more than willing to pitch in and assist these kids.

I truly hope when the next earthquake lays the city to waste that every military branch puts them at the end of the list of necessary things to do.
All of life's choices have consequences. Speech is simply another one of those choices.
