Real Windfall Profits

How about a tax on these windfall profits ?

Or what was the cost of creating these profits. Is this not an unfair windfall profit ?

Go ahead, call me a racist. It is so overused for the most trivial of things it means nothing anymore. For what it is worth, my choice for President was Condi Rice but unfortunately we can't get that quality of character and intelligence to put themselves through this sophomoric Presidential 'American Idol-like' pageant.

You see I believe in what Dr. King said about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. I am not a racist for simply pointing out racist behavior in others. I am not the one dressing up in silly outfits or belonging to an organization based solely on one's color of skin.

When I see the picture below I am humbled and appreciative that people like this exist and I too can call myself an American... just like him. I am moved by what he has selflessly volunteered to bear upon himself.



Now, Obama had the perfect opportunity, being neither wholly black nor white, to appeal to all Americans and truly be a uniter. Yet in his poor judgment he choose to identify himself with only one sub culture. From that decision I am certain this civilian security force is not exactly the Peace Corp because this group's imagined victimization, with a chip on its shoulder, he pandered to couldn't care less about all Americans; the one he chose to associate with for 20 years before disowning it out of political necessity.

So go ahead and call me a racist. You can take your moronic lemming-like thinking and take the plunge right along with all the other mindless followers.

The Audacity of Hype

Apparently Gordon Brown wanted to limit the photo ops.

When one has no substance then symbolism is the only resort. His campaign has indicated this is to bolster his foreign policy status therefore he must have not had much of one to begin with. How dropping by a country for a day or two makes one an expert on understanding that country is ridiculous.

What snake oil are they pitching at 10 Downing Street? What message are the rubes back home supposed to get from this? The press and the feeble-minded ( sorry for being redundant ) fawn over his appeal to foreigners and they ridicule McCain because he is at home visiting with American voters and looking awkward in a body bearing the measure of his dedication to our country.

Let me state what I think of how what the world thinks of us matters to me. Well, I don't want to foul my blog with that kind of language.

Stolen Stratocaster Update

Back in October of last year I made a post about my Stratocaster that was stolen from my friend's studio.

So assh*** if you are reading this, yes it was me that put you where you are. Idiot. Those pawnbroker charges are the result of my effort. I'm sure Bubba and Leroy are getting to know you and are enjoying your company.

This guy came back a few days after the initial burglary. He was one step away from being plastered on a hallway wall by a .357 bullet. An even bigger surprise ( and mess ) awaits him if he tries again when he gets out or sends his buddies over.

The Emperor's New Clothes



After this ridiculous world tour I believe "uh uh B uh Hussein uh uh Obama" has revealed his true ambitions, or rather manifestation of his Messiah Complex.

In one of his speeches he feigns humility and inclusion when what he really meant was "I am the one you've been waiting for. I am the change that you seek." Yes I can.

I HOPE the CHANGE he promises turns out to be those new clothes he wears back into his Senate garb.

Lawyers and Lies

Imagine you're a nationally known lawyer and politician who has worked for years to build a reputation such that you can be taken seriously for the highest office in the land. Suddenly some sleaze gossip magazine makes up vicious lies and damages you reputation. If I were such a person my first instinct would to file a libel suit and clean out their bank account just like I would do to a doctor.

And how did John Edwards reply back in December when the story first broke before this attack by the National Enquirer ?
"Edwards responded: 'The story is false. It's completely untrue, ridiculous,' adding: 'Anyone who knows me knows that I have been in love with the same woman for 30-plus years.' "
Here it is seven months later and still no legal action has been taken. Some times it is what one doesn't say that points to the truth. But then what lawyer would have anything to do with the truth ?

Update: In step with Liberal Fascism, you know those that promote the idea of the People's right to know, the LA Times asks it bloggers to suppress the story.

I'd Like an Answer

Open note to the media:

Would someone please ask Obama what his strategy is to win his 'real' war in Afghanistan. Are we going to have a time table to withdraw our troops to victory ?

Anybody notice a trend here. We kick al Qaeda's ass in Afghanistan then they show up in Iraq where we again kick their ass now they show up in Afghanstan/Pakistan. Might the two be tied together by the concept of a global war against terrorist ?

Drilling Wars In Moronville

I used this old photo because I think it is more like the image liberals have in their mind of the oilfield. We learned long ago that fully utilizing oil leases is not that great of an idea.

Now I am oilfield trash. My father was a petroleum engineer. Like many other professionals he had to actually go out into the field and work as part of his education. He also worked on drilling rigs to put himself through school and put beans in our bellies. He would often take me and my little brother with him when he was a pumper in the field. I was around 5 at the time. This is a culture I grew up in with engineers, geologists and oil service people over at our house, out fishing or my parents bowling league.

My brother and I worked in it when we were adults and I stayed there until I was 28 years old. Unlike a Kennedy with nice trimmed fingernails and a trust fund from a dishonest father, or a Pelosi with big boobs and a multi-millionaire husband with the time to work my way up from the PTA to the US Congress, we had to work our way up. I know a little about the oilfield.

Bush called the popular Democrat Congress' hand by lifting the Executive ban on offshore drilling. These brilliant Democrats have now countered with an argument that oil companies are not fully using their leases. Unfortunately they are too drunk with gotcha politics to realize how stupid this is.

These are people not doing what is right for the country but pandering to their base of Greens and other EPA inspired Eco-nuts on the extreme left. As difficult as it might be, try and put yourself into the mind of this group of voters. Once they get a clue about what this position will lead to what will they think when the oilfield is dotted with rig after rig fully utilizing leases. If for them one rig footprint is one too many imagine what they will think when it is 100 ?

The Democrats have no clue how the oilfield works. Nor do they understand that rigs are very expensive and finding oil or gas miles below the surface is not an exact science. That's why they call it oil exploration; exploring from one lease to another. These leases take time to acquire at great expense. The competition is trying to acquire them as well. So a company acquires them for future exploration when either their rigs are finished at one site and can be moved to another or another rig can be built or leased. Because some people think a windfall profits tax is a good way to get back at these evil oil companies there may be less money to build or lease additional rigs.

Not. A. Clue. Yet they run a country.

A vote for a Democrat in Congress is tacit approval of high oil prices. Don't complain if you vote that way. You'll be part of the problem.

As some old sage said: "The People deserve the government they get."

Now Drudge has a Huge Red Banner about OPEC.

We need to get our focus off this current mess. These people keep saying we can't drill our way out of the current price problems. However, we can drill our way out of future problems. We should create a five year plan to position ourselves to tell OPEC to shove it. Let the Saudis know that since they haven't lived up to their agreement to provide us the oil we need we rescind our agreement to provide them protection. We have won the war in Iraq and kicked the ass of those we were after. Let's get the hell out of there. Nobody can say we didn't give them a chance.

Tell the Gulf states that we will not protect their shipping through the Straits of Hormuz and tell them we are giving them five years to build their forces for their own protection. Let China and India foot the bill for protection. Tell them in five years we will no longer involve ourselves in their affairs as their Muslim populace wants us out anyway. Let them deal with Iran. Get just as brutal with these pricks as they are with us.

As our production comes online we indicate to Venezuela they need to sell their oil to Cuba. In five years we will no longer buy it while the gutter thug is in power.

Carry it either further and let WalMart know we are going to impose tariffs on Chinese goods over this period and promote domestic products. If we can slow the Chinese economy we can reduce global demand for oil and clean up the air at the same time.

Then walk it like we talk it and pray for a food shortage in the Muslim countries. Sure, we'll sell you wheat... for $100 a pound.

If we're going to be accused of all the bogus evils the world throws at us then we might as well be guilty of it.

I got yer stimulus right here.

I owed some of last year's taxes. I paid them off yesterday. Today I got a mail from the IRS showing I owed them $600 less since they had applied my stimulus check to the amount I owed. So that check went from one of their accounts right back to another. Didn't stimulate anything but the fact that I am so fed up with the servant of the people robbing them blind. So I decided to create a more appropriate logo for the IRS:

Profiles In Judgment: Item #1



The only difference between William Ayers and the hijackers that flew into the Pentagon is the type and size of the bomb they used. The motive was the same. One would think it poor judgment to launch one's political career at the home of someone like William Ayers.

Profiles In Judgment: Item #2

The 50% black JFK wannabe bases his superior judgment on his opposition to the invasion of Iraq to rid the world of the despot Hussein. That mission was accomplished in short order and we soon found ourselves adapting to a known unknown, whether rogue elements would start an insurgency.

The truth has been diffused in the American public conscious by election propaganda every 2 years which has resulted in a lot of 'would have, could have, should haves. It is in this ambiguity that such a statement can exist.

But here's what we do know from history and the American that interrogated and spent time with him:

1. Hussein gave the world the impression he had WMD because he feared Iran.

2. Once sanctions were over he intended to reconstitute his weapons programs.

3. He had no qualms about using them against Iran.

4. He had launched missiles against Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

5. He harbored the world's most notorious terrorists.

6. He financially supported the intifada.

These are facts that will withstand scrutiny. Most of this was known to the 50% black JFK wannbe at the time he made his superior judgment that appeasement and containment were the course to take. Just as we had for the previous 12 years between 1991 and 2003.

So back to the world of conjecture. Is it not unreasonable to assume that had sanctions been lifted Hussein would have had five years to reinvigorate his WMD programs and we would now find ourselves in a situation where two of the world's significant oil producers would be involved in a WMD arms race with global tensions much like those of the first Iran-Iraq war ? Even worse is that both countries would be very near the acquisition and use of them.

Now, instead of two nuclear armed rogue states we only have to deal with one.

His judgment is not all that superior is it ?

Obama's position is to impede a chance at victory and retreat:

"As most people know, we have gone in to clear and left, and the insurgents have returned. Now that we have the hindsight knowing the Iraqi government has met 15 of 18 benchmarks of a Congress that itself is unable to accomplish a thing and that Iraqi and Coalition forces have stomped the last significant force of terrorists in Mosul... which person had the better judgment?

I wish all of the people of our country would read these words and fully understand how profound they are when considering history up to that time. It was the first time in human history that the people are descried as the source of power instead of rule by a privileged few. This is what we should be celebrating... how lucky we are being born in this era and in this place.

Several centuries since these concepts are taken for granted. The people of this country are split on their views of the implications of the founding concept of this country. The primary founding principle is that all people, not just Americans, have inherent rights as living beings on this planet, that no power, law or dictate can deny them the right of self-preservation, breathing, raising a family, teaching their children and grasping whatever their reach can attain. Those things that are not a governments business.

We have many citizens that have this American ideal embedded in their morality. They understand what 'All Men' means just that, all human beings. They believe this so deeply they will die making it manifest; not just for their own country but for anybody unable to free themselves from despotism and attain their natural rights. These people are often referred to as Patriots. They walk it like they talk it. Because they do millions in Europe, Asia and the Middle East live these same ideals.

We have other citizens that view these words as idealistic; written by a bunch of old rich white male slave owners. However, these types of citizens are quick to use these ideals as a defense for their derision. They will say these are great ideals but not worth sacrificing blood and national treasure for others. These people simply talk it; they are Paper-Patriots. They desire that the government encroach upon the people's power to attain equality among people. They feel their views to be more informed and nuanced than a mere low-brow Patriot and they see those willing to die for the American ideals as fools.

They would do well to ask themselves if these ideals have survived, spread through the world, taken root in Iraq for the first time in human history by merely talking about it. They should also consider, in historical terms, who is really the fool.
