The World Turned Upside Down

It is quite telling to me just how pathetic Obama has become when I am finding myself more in synch with the French President.

SOTU

I don't think I can stomach watching the SOTU tonight mostly because I already have an idea of what Nimrod The Great is going to say. Once again I will volunteer as this administration's czar of Why That's a Stupid Idea.

1) Jobs not 'Green' Jobs. The American people just want jobs and have little interest in the application of black-board theories when they are losing their houses.

2) Energy now, not waiting until new 'Green' technologies yet to come to markey viability.

3) Health Care Reform. Kill the social experiment and focus on real reform. In the past he has included reforming Medicare and Medicare by eliminating waste and graft. Focus on that since you heralded it into the equation of reducing costs. If you can't do this minor tenet they how are we to believe you could have done the rest of it ?

4) Looking angry and resolute will only make him look clueless.

5) Recently the President in an interview stated that perhaps his administration isn't getting the message to the people. No, Mr. President, you are not listening. If this summer of discontent did get through to you guys then perhaps it never will. We are not convinced you are as smart as you think you are. Listen !

6) George Bush did not run up the 787$ 'Stimulus' Bill that was actually more of a compensation package for political cronies and funding for their further adventures.

7) George Bush did not ram that bill down our throats without even reading it.

8) George Bush did not fire and demean an Inspector General for uncovering the corruption.

9) George Bush did not look the other way from clearly documented voter intimidation by a racist organization.

10) George Bush sought to address the impending mortgage crisis while you defended the strong arm tactics of forcing banks to offer risky loans.

11) George Bush released TARP money that you approved of also.

12) George Bush did not bribe Senators for their vote.

13) George Bush did not make you break campaign promises.

14) George Bush did not take over private industries.

15) George Bush did not violate the sanctity of private contracts.

16) George Bush did not treat terrorists as mere criminals or offend the very people who suffered the most by bringing the terrorists to the scene of the crime and granting them equal privileges as their victims.

So basically this self-deluded boy wonder needs to grow up.  He wanted the job, he knew what lay ahead and told us he could fix it.   So fix it.  Whining about the past isn't doing anything. We all heard you the first time.

He and the Democrats are not blameless for this economic fiasco. Their hands are dirty and it is a lie to blame this on one party. Things turned to shit after the 2006 election when they took over Congress and have been in a free-fall ever since. Face up to reality.

But it is going to be just more posing as a tough guy while chasing good money after bad. We are simply screwed. The ship is sinking. Every man for himself.

Doubling Down On Dumb

After getting off on the wrong exit from the highway of reality and wandering through the means streets of universal health care the President has driven the bus back to where the wrong turn was made. His back seat drivers have advised that he quickly look for Jobs Avenue. Having let us know he 'gets it' he is rushing to Ohio to talk about jobs... green jobs. I serious doubt the unemployed workers give a hoot about what political color the jobs are. All that matters is that in the end they have some green to deposit into their bank accounts.

This administration's efforts to stimulate an economic recovery remind me of the famous Gary Larson cartoon "Midvale School For The Gifted"

What the Democrats have never understood it that it is primarily small business that creates jobs, not the government.  It is the burden of government in taxation and regulation that place too heavy of a load on entrepreneurs  to encourage borrowing for business expansion.   They are trying to Push on a door that clearly says Pull.

Here is my version of the problem:

What a great day.

They Should Have Read The Signs

Listening to all the pontifications about why the people are angry. Apparently politicians can't read signs either.

Figurehead

The election of Brown basically relegates the remaining three years of his term to that of a figurehead.

There is sadness tonight in Obamaland.

Moore A Prophet ?

I usually find Michael Moore's views sophomoric. It's like he is permanently stuck at 17. However, I have found this little gem which shows he can be quite astute.

We're working on it Michael.

American Exceptionalism

I must admit that I do thank God often that I was born an American. A land where dreams do come true with a little effort and courage.

Speaking of Dreams

I actually remember watching this on TV when I was about 8 years old.  It made an impression on me.

To this day that is the best speech I have ever seen in my life. Every word of it true and supremely delivered.

Today these are the people that claim they admire him. They use him as their symbol.

I would put up sermons from Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton but I can't find any worth including.

My Next Blog

Now that I have the hang of this I will begin working on my other blog relating to all things digital. The concept of IOpia came about long ago. I was sitting in the computer lab and was prompted to change my password. Out of nowhere came IOpian, one who dwells in the world of Input/Output; IO is a very common term in computer science.

It was so profound that driving home a concept unfolded and upon arriving I went out and signed up for every free email service I could as IOpian@. I also went to Network Solutions and acquired the domains www.iopian.com, www.iopian.net. I tried to get www.iopia.com but it was taken. About two years later the guy let that domain expire and I grabbed it for five years.

Now this was way back in the ancient days of the nineties. I stayed continually employed after college so I rarely did anything with this.

The first concept was a virtual world called IOpia that would be like a virtual village with links to a Mall, a Library, a City Hall and such things. In each link would be pertinent content. I even contemplating going to local vendors, photographing their wares and post them online.

I may still go this route as far as presentation but I think I want to confine it to Digital Art, Cameras and Music. I am tired of politics and I have this creative urges. Since I now find myself without income but also without distractions I think I will direct my energies that way.

I am still trying to decide whether to develop this using Blogger and point it at my domain or to use WordPress. I particular like the look and feel of WordPress sites. This new Blogger system is better than the old setup, in particular I like they gadgets concept. It encapsulates the elements of the page so it is easy to go directly to the code and do edits. I just need to do some exploration but I am leaning towards WordPress.

The primary consideration is that the address is www.iopia.com

Just Thinking Outloud

Hmmm... clean cut, articulate, self-made, charismatic state senator becomes US Senator for two years then the Presidency? It has happened before. Is it possible Conservatives may have found their voice in Scott Brown? Is it possible the Democrats can cheat enough to stop the tide from turning?

The Anti-Obama?

Update

So far so good. This may work out. Have the template commented for what parts of the code to tweak. Probably going to be worth the change.

The Second Shot Heard Round The World?

I am encouraged by the events unfolding in Massachusetts. Should Brown win it will be a moment much like a bunch of liberty loving citizens who had had enough of an overbearing force and began their revolt at Concord. Now perhaps comes the beginning of the Second American Revolution where the same spirit opposed to tyranny stops the assault.

Ted Kennedy was the epitome of the socialist left that longed for power concentrated into the hands of an elitist oligarchy, going so far as to bestow a pseudo aristocracy upon a wealthy local bootlegging kingpin's family. The People's Revolution was not fought to throw off one form of tyranny in exchange for another.

There is a certain justice, that with the death of the prince, the shot be fired by his successor from his empty throne. The shot that comes to be seen as the point where the American spirit re-emerged letting those who have corrupted that spirit know:

WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR BS !      NOW LISTEN TO US DAMMIT !

Rats and Weasels Operate in the Dark

When the Democrats use two words we are now all free to laugh: Transparency and Bipartisan.

From an opinion piece by Peter Roff in US News & World Report:

The Talking Points Memo website reported Monday that Democrats in both the House and Senate are saying the process will likely follow the path of the House taking up the Senate-passed legislation, amending it and sending it back to the Senate, which will have to pass it again. "This process cuts out the Republicans," a House Democratic aide told TPM, indicating the congressional majority intended to make sure the Republican minority would "not have a motion to recommit opportunity."
