On Religion and Militias

This is going to jump around but I promise I will tie the ends.

There are a couple of items in the news today. One is the 'Christian' militia story and the other is a judge ordering the father of a slain patriot to pay reparation to Fred Phelps. In John chapter 21:20-22 Jesus tells Peter that the fate of John is none of his business and that Peter would do well to be concerned with his own fate.

So in one aspect it can be said that it is of no concern to me. It isn't on a personal level but in another aspect they are defaming Christ by bastardizing His teaching. Since Jesus said we would know a tree by the fruit it bears and that not all who claim to be His followers are truly following Him.

Fred Phelps is not a Christian. Irrespective of what he and his followers may say their actions are anti-Christ. They hate. They are lying children of Satan. Enough said.

This militia is the same except they want to super-size hatred and kill. What these kinds of people miss is how extremely radical Jesus was. Jesus taught from a point of view beyond mortality, our original sin of simply being mortal.. made of nothing more than materials of the universe. But we are in God's image because we are conscious of our existence unlike a rock. We can connect to God's spiritual realm. We are to divorce ourselves of this world. Me must take a leap of faith into His realm by first letting go of the security of this world. If someone threatens to kill you because you won't deny Christ then you should let them kill you. If someone threatens to kill your child if you don't deny Christ then let them kill your child. Our nature finds this abhorrent because we are wired to cling to this life. But this is exactly what God did with Abram. Because Abram loved God more than his own life or Issac's life God made Abram into Abraham the father of nations.

Then there is this Armageddon/Anti-Christ aspect. A lot of people are caught up is this end-time phenomena. If you think about it the end of the world comes tens of thousands of times each day for people. It is foolish to sit and await this rapture. Dead is dead and it happens every day of every year. But a true follower of Christ should not resist the evil it produces let alone taking up arms and joining in the blood-lust.

But now the league of the ignorant in the media industry is going to portray Christianity, which teaches love and life, in a lesser light than Islam which teaches hate and death.

There is a verse in Revelations that I have always thought as a symbolic of Satan's modus operandi

12:3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.

12:4 His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

That to me describes the attitude of the 'elitists' in modern America culture. They wait to kill Christianity any way they can.
